You asked, and so this month, I’m excited to share a quick Q&A about my writing journey, answering some of your questions.

Why did you start writing, and why do you write about the oceans?
When I was in school, I came across a documentary about kelp forests and the Great Barrier Reef – and knew that was what I wanted to write about. After my parents’ divorce, fantasy books and fantasy worlds provided me with much-needed escapism, making me feel less alone, and I fell in love with the genre.
What’s your personality type?
I’m an ENFP (ENFP-A for those of you who know your personality types), so I’m always drawn to novelty, rich fantasy worlds, and I love finding ways to let my creativity fuel my writing.
Favorite day job?
Curating Spotify playlists at a major record company was a pretty cool day job; it was my job back when I started out as a music producer.
When did you start writing?
I started at around 12, although I first would be headed for drama school and later work as a producer and in the music industry before focusing on writing again. My love for storytelling, however, was driving me in all those creative projects
Favorite genre?
Epic fantasy, it’s always been my favorite genre.
What’s your favorite thing about world-building?
I love the process of exploring ideas and creating fantasy worlds, maps, and seeing how everything fits together.
What can we expect from your next project?
Underwater worlds and adventure!
Why should I care about the oceans?
The oceans are important – and through my stories, I hope to show readers that these underwater worlds are worth protecting.
