Amaris Emersleben (* in Stans, Switzerland) is an author, actor, recording artist, and producer.

Amaris was raised in central Switzerland by a teacher and a musician, and after her parents’ divorce, she moved to Zurich. Her family is from Switzerland, the Netherlands, and New Zealand, and she grew up with English, German, and Dutch.
Amaris received her formal training at drama school Vera Forster in Zurich, and appeared in her first plays. She later continued her studies at the Stage & Musical School in Frankfurt, Germany, where she discovered electronic music for her dance studies, which made her discover the genre for herself. Being new to dance studies, Amaris needed to train in the evenings in her free time to achieve the levels of the other students, with which her new-found curiosity for electronic music helped. She started the dance floor project “Geiko– electronic dance music”, the first album of which was released in 2014, becoming her first official album.
After returning to Zurich to complete a degree in Business Law and to work as a playlist manager for Sony Music, she later moved to London, and released her synth-pop-influenced album “Neon Colours”, in 2017, which was well-received by critics. In 2018, she released “Aquamarine”, a full-length album inspired by the oceans. This was followed by “26”, a brooding and thoughtful album, in 2019. She wrote and appeared as an actor in the short film “Supernova” in 2019, playing the character of Dr Moone.
In 2020, Amaris released the electronic album “Dream World”, with the title song “Dream World” receiving 100k streams on Spotify alone, and critics calling the album a “wonderful blend of dream-pop textures and far-flung futuristic electronica”. For the album, Amaris worked on music videos like “No Signal” filmed in London and Zurich, and “Sunsets”, filmed in London and Los Angeles, collaborating with director Maria Corso, as well as “Dream World”, filmed in Sydney and Zurich. Earlier in 2021, her retro-futurism inspired single “Time Traveler” was released, and was called “a synth pop sensation” by The Indie Source.
In 2021, her fantasy book “Lagoona: A Journey through the Reef” was published, a project that raises awareness for disappearing coral reefs and for ocean protection. She was invited to read at the Rahmenhandlung literary festival in Zurich, Switzerland, in 2020, and re-invited to read in 2021. In 2022, she appeared as Elaine in a stage production of “The Last of the Red Hot Lovers”, in Switzerland.
Amaris’s skills in combining genres like electronica and pop have defined her music as genre-defying. “Creativity is my fuel,” says Amaris, “I can rely on it.”
In 2023, she released the electronic and synth pop album “Love and Oceans”, followed by the single “Different”, which was called a “great song for when you’re feeling down” by Earmilk. She also helped produce the documentary “On Tape”, which was released in 2023, and featured female music producers. Inspired by the themes of insomnia, which have appeared in several of her songs, she published the fantasy short story “Nightmares” – alongside a German version of the same book – in 2024.
Amaris has been featured in several publications, including Earmilk, Your edm, The Hype Magazine, We Rave You, The Indie Source, NFZ, Modernmysteryblog, Independent Artist Buzz, DMZ News, and Nova Music.
Amaris is very vocal on the protection of the oceans, and became an ambassador for the non-profit organization Big Blue Ocean Clean-up, which works to reduce plastic waste in the oceans. She loves to help new writers, and writes about topics that make their writing journey easier.
